Imperialism in India in my perspective
When the British came to India to bring their language upon us, I was only a fifteen-year-old girl living in the Muslim community. It was strange of course, if someone was to come into your country and try to change the way you live, it would be a little weird. The British were coming to our country because of our ports and they wanted to combine us all together and speak one language to make them stronger. Eventually, very few groups started to rebel against what the British was telling us we had to do. The groups of rebellions were getting larger and larger. Many of them started to fight the British but that just got them killed, so they stop fighting back and just took the punishment they were given.
The Muslims and Hindus were the first to go at it with each other, we were split apart from the hindus because of the percent of all of us, the Hindus had a greater percent and they wanted to be their own community. It was scary having friends you knew from a different religion act like they wanted to kill you. But eventually the fighting stopped and a group called "The sepoy mutiny" started and war broke out, it was British and Indians fighting against British and Indians, and it was crazy. They sepoys started killing women and children to make a point toward the british, everything was really out of control. We were losing many British soldiers and Indian rebels everyday. Because of this, came the event that changed india forever, British took total control over our country. Instead of doing what they said voluntarily, we were forced to Industrialize and change the way we lived because we decided to break out in a rebellion and we lost. India was changed very much after that, but most was for the better. We had better, more stable ways of living, and we couldn't have done it with the British.
